“New Name” analyses Biblically makes sense. One of those things I’ve skipped over and never pondered other than. Spending a lot of time pondering the implications of Gen 41 Joseph’s names for his two sons and connecting those to the warning/consequences at the end of Matt 18.
Regarding reproach on Christ’s Church: some say Christian BITTERNESS is the root of the majority of reproach on the Church.
